Hosted by CPC and Tenet, ProcurEd North is a procurement conference and exhibition which brings together expert speakers and professionals from the procurement and education sector.
ProcurEd North delegates will be provided with the tools and information they need to get the best purchasing outcomes for their educational establishment during the 2018/19 academic year and beyond.
The conference is designed for all who are responsible for procurement, across all educational establishments.
CPC and Tenet Education Services who are hosting the event are both not-for-profit organisations, owned and run by the education sector.
The conference’s schedule has many networking opportunities, including the opportunity to meet the CPC and Tenet team, and our approved exhibitors, all of which will be ready to share their knowledge and insight with you on their area of expertise. ProcurEd North will also offer many opportunities to meet and share ideas with procurement professionals from across the education sector.

David Gregory is the Head of Innovation at JTRS – a strategic partner for LEGO® Education. David is responsible for school, college and university engagement and consultation using LEGO® Education across the UK.
David believes students only get one shot at education, so it has to be the best possible experience. David is a part time teacher and carries out workshops and events across the UK. He is also a NLP Practitioner, LEGO® Education Certified Academy Trainer and is currently studying for a level 7 ILM executive coaching qualification. His knowledge of the UK curriculum and education system is current.
He also has experience of current global pedagogy. David is also a part-time professional saxophonist specialising in creativity.
Catherine Kelsall is a former School Business Manager with over 24 years’ experience of working in a Special Needs Primary School, Catherine was also an Associate Governor at the school. Catherine is now working for the Department for Education’s Schools Commercial Team as a Schools Engagement Lead.
The team’s role is to support delivery of the Schools’ Buying Strategy.
A member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply, Darren has been working within the education sector for the past 25 years. Having built a career in procurement whilst working at both Oldham College and Preston’s College, Darren joined Tenet Education Services in 2009. Darren has been the Managing Director of Tenet Education Services and Tenet Procurement Services since November 2016.
Darren has been actively involved in innovative procurement exercises during his procurement career including leading on the first collaborative IT tender in the sector back in 2008, which received recognition at the Civil Awards 2008 and was used to assist the FE Procurement Improvement Project to win an award for Best Procurement Initiative. Since then Darren has provided advice and guidance to many colleagues and customers of Tenet resulting in significant cost savings being achieved.
Pat is a CIPS qualified professional with over 30 years procurement experience, 25 of which have been spent in the education sector.
Pat has worked with DfE, NAO, AOC and others to promote best practice procurement within education and the wider public sector. In 2012 Pat was awarded Fellowship of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply and continues to work with sector bodies to improve value for money for all educational institutions.
After starting his career as an engineering apprentice for four years, Ian began working in procurement in 1984. Ian’s procurement career has encompassed many years in a number of roles within Ford Motor Company, and latterly within CNH, the agricultural equipment arm of Fiat SpA. In 2008, Ian joined Tenet as its first Procurement Manager, looking after two staff and three clients. This quickly grew in numbers of staff and clients, where we are now looking after more than 35 clients across the country. In the last 10 years, Ian has developed a detailed knowledge of the Public Contract Regulations and has particular specialisms in IT and hard and soft services. Ian has a passion for saving money from the public purse and to ensure that our clients achieve the best value they can from what little money they have.
Florence has been a procurement professional for over 35 years and brings her practical experience of working in health and higher education and, more recently working as a procurement consultant. She has a practical, relaxed delivery style and uses her real life experiences to explain key learning points within presentations and training courses.
The ProcurEd North exhibition gives procurement professionals the opportunity to meet the CPC and Tenet team, and our approved exhibitors who will be keen to share key information and the latest developments within their industries.
The ProcurEd North event space provides a fantastic opportunity for CPC members to meet, learn and discuss procurement for education with their colleagues and professional peers.
We know budgets are tight, so our delegate packages are free of charge for CPC members and non-members who work in procurement in an educational establishment.
The day’s programme will be filled with engaging content with something for every level of expertise and each delegate will enjoy free seminars, lunch and refreshments.
Should you be travelling to one of the nearby train stations and need transport to and from the venue, we can organise a train station pick-up and drop-off for you.
